worcestershire chairman stephen taylor has welcomed New Road once again being included as part of the england women’s programme for the 2018 season.
the county will stage the opening match in the royal london one-day series against south africa at their headquarters on june 9.
it will be an ideal opportunity for worcestershire members and supporters to see the world cup winners in action at first hand.
New Road has been a regular part of the england women’s calendar in recent seasons.
taylor said: “it is always great when international cricket comes to the ground and next summer will be no exception.
“to be chosen to host the first england women’s match of next summer is a feather in our cap.
“we have staged many tourist and international fixtures – men and women – at new road and they are always special occasions.
“this one will be extra special as our loyal members and supporters can see the current world cup holders in england and it should be a memorable occasion.”
