Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 13 strong squad for the 50 over friendly with Gloucestershire at New Road tomorrow (10.45 am start).
Former Gloucestershire batsman Alex Gidman will captain the side in the absence of Daryl Mitchell who is in action for the MCC against Yorkshire in Abu Dhabi.
Gidman also led the side during the county's pre-season trip to Abu Dhabi for the final 50 over game against Middlesex when Mitchell was rested after playing in the opening three fixtures.
All-rounder Gareth Andrew is also included in the squad for the first game at the county's headquarters since the memorable win over Surrey in September secured promotion to Division One of the LV = County Championship.
Andrew has returned to bowling since January after the complete healing of the lumbar pedicle fracture in his back which prevented him from bowling after the opening four games.
Bowling coach Matt Mason said: "Gaz is looking fantastic, like he did at the start of last season. He is not bowling like someone who hasn't picked up a cricket ball for a few months.
"He is experienced and has come in and hit a beautiful line and length, always challenging. I just hope he stays fit this year for his sake and for the sake of the team.
"He is a quality performer and a great cricketer. Unquestionably one of our most dangerous bowlers.
"Sadly for Gaz with the bat, he hasn't quite made the impact he would have liked but we also hope this year he will make some important contributions in that area as well.
"In terms of the balance of our side, he is one of our most important cricketers."
Worcestershire: Oliver, Kohler-Cadmore, Fell, Gidman, Kervezee, Whiteley, Cox, D'Oliveira, Leach, Shantry, Morris, Choudhry, Andrew.
The two sides will also be in action at New Road on Thursday and Friday in a two-day red ball fixture.
