Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 12 strong squad for tomorrow's LV = County Championship clash with Gloucestershire at New Road.
All-rounder Ross Whiteley is added to the players who were on duty in the county's last Championship match against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham just over three weeks ago.
Whiteley played in the opening nine Championship matches of the season and has shown good form in recent NatWest T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup appearances.
That match resulted in an eight wicket win for leaders Worcestershire and, with second placed Surrey beaten by Kent, enabled them to open up a 43 point rival over their nearest rivals and with a game in hand.
Rhodes insists Worcestershire will not get carried away with their lofty position against opponents who defeated them in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Wednesday.
Rhodes said: "It was a big result for us to beat Gloucestershire in the last four-day game with Surrey getting beat (by Kent). It just halted their charge a little bit.
"But we can only focus on our own games. Our players are an intelligent bunch as well. They are not prepared to get carried away.
"They very much do want to stick to the things they've done well and we all want to keep improving.
"The dressing room is a place I'll keep an eye on but thankfully I don't really need to because they won't get carried away.
"They've got their feet firmly on the ground."
