BROWN FLIES OUT TO PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE TO PLAY FOR PESHAWAR ZALMI

Worcestershire CCC paceman Pat Brown has flown out to the Pakistan Super League to play for Peshawar Zalmi.

Brown has been drafted in as a replacement for Lancashire bowler Saqib Mahmood after England selected him for the T20I Series in the West Indies.

He is available for selection for Peshawar Zalmi’s opening encounter against Quetta Gladiators in the National Stadium, Karachi, on Friday.

It will be the first action for four months for Brown, who featured in four T20Is for England in New Zealand just over two years ago.

Worcestershire Head Coach, Alex Gidman, said Brown, 23, is now fully fit as he looks to bounce back from last summer’s injury setbacks.

Gidman said: “Pat has been training with the group and is fully fit now. He has really enjoyed his training and bowling and has been taking a full part in everything we do.

“Fingers crossed that remains the same for the next few months and that Pat will hopefully be fully available for selection for the beginning of the season.

“He is doing everything in his power to give him the best chance to be available, which is exactly what we expect from Pat.

“He is very diligent and very professional and is very hungry to be fully fit and to be competing for us on the pitch.”
