ANOTHER FIFTY FOR MILTON BUT FINCH SEES WOLVES HOME BY ONE RUN

Alex Milton hit a second successive half century for Bromsgrove but was on the losing side by ONE run in the Birmingham Premier League Division Two game against Wolverhampton with Adam Finch bowling the final over

Worcestershire wicket-keeper batsman Milton followed up his 54 not out in the win over Tamworth last week by making 56 off 82 balls with five fours as Bromsgrove chased a 233 target.

Milton put on 124 for the third wicket with century-maker Jayden Levitt before he was third out at 168-3.

Levitt went onto make 135 not out but the task of making three runs off the final ball, bowled by County paceman Finch, was beyond him.

He scrambled one run but then Worcestershire Cricket Board cricket development director, Tom Hill, was run out attempting the second which would have brought the scores level.

Finch finished with figures of 10-1-47-1 and earlier Worcestershire opener Tom Fell made 25 off 58 balls with five fours going in first as Wolverhampton totalled 232-6.

Worcestershire batsman Jack Haynes struck an unbeaten 47 from 63 deliveries with six boundaries as Ombersley gained a comfortable seven wicket win over Brockhampton who were bowled out for 99 in 33,4 overs.

George Rhodes had figures of 10-1-42-3 for Barnards Green but his side went down by 16 runs to Leamington.

Rhodes made 14 off 12 balls opening the batting as Barnards Green were dismissed for 175 in 46.1 overs in reply to Leamington’s 191-9.

In Premier Division One, Worcestershire coach Andy Sutton (10-2-43-3) continued his good form with the ball for Barnt Green.

His victims included Leicestershire batsman Ateeq Javid – but Barnt Green managed only 92 all out in 22.1 overs and lost by 158 runs to Berkswell (250-7).
