Seth Essenhigh hit an explosive century – his second of the month – for Worcestershire Academy (Under-18s) as they defeated Cheshire by 24 runs in a high scoring 50 over match at Northwich CC.
The keeper-batter smashed TEN sixes in making 102 from just 70 balls in a Worcestershire total of 307-5 after they had been put into bat.
It followed on from his 119 off 122 balls against Staffordshire at Alveley in the ECB Under-18 County Cup.
Essenhigh, who batted at number five, added 111 for the fourth wicket with Daniel Latergan (78) and 67 for the fifth with Fin Goodman (21 not out).
He was eventually out in the penultimate over after another splendid knock.
Earlier, Lucas Ingram (29) and Flynn Gunston (54) put on 50 for the second wicket and then Gunston and Latergan added 65 for the third.
Cheshire made a good attempt to chase down their daunting target before being bowled out for 283 in 48 overs.
Joshua Leach (10-0-54-3) worked his way through the middle order and then Ben Clements, who had taken the new ball, polished off the innings and ended with 8-0-32-3.
