ANOTHER ACCURATE SPELL FROM ACADEMY BOWLER DAVIDSON DURING UNDER-19S WORLD CUP

Worcestershire CCC Academy player, Oliver Davidson, produced another telling contribution with the ball for Scotland during their ICC Under-19 World Cup encounter with Zimbabwe in Port Of Spain.

The slow left armer returned his side’s most economical figures in the Plate quarter-final and ended with 1-34 from 10 overs.

Davidson bowled his full quota in four spells of five, two, one and two overs, including two maidens.

He picked up his sixth wicket of the tournament in his final over, the 48th of the innings.

Tendekai Mataranyika (3) was deceived by a delivery that pitched on middle and leg and caught off a leading edge at cover.

Davidson’s efforts helped pegged back Zimbabwe, who were bowled out for 248 in 49.5 overs.

He also produced a smart piece of fielding in running out Steven Saul (15), attempting a second run, with his accurate throw to the non-striker’s end from deep mid-wicket.

Davidson again opened the Scotland innings and was dismissed for 12 with the total on 52 when caught behind off Emmanuel Bawa. Scotland were dismissed for 140 in 39 overs.
