Worcestershire CCC’s full Academy side are hoping to finally taste their first action of 2018 this Sunday when they take on Warwickshire Under-19s at Barnt Green.
Like the County’s senior side and the Seconds during pre-season, the Academy’s early programme has been decimated by the weather.
A two-day fixture against the Seconds at RGS Worcester was washed out.
The three-day Shrewsbury School Festival, which has been a traditional early season event for the Academy, suffered the same fate.
Then the Birmingham Premier League called off this season’s Graham Williamson Trophy because of the elements.
The Academy had been due to visit Moseley in the first round and then take on Dorridge – either in the second round or the plate competition.
Now, with the weather forecast encouraging for the Bank Holiday weekend, Academy Coach Elliot Wilson is hoping his players will finally be able to get out into the middle.
Paceman Adam Finch will be returning to action after playing three matches for the England Under-19 side in the ICC World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year.
The 50 over contest is scheduled to get underway at 11am and Worcestershire will choose from:
Jack Haynes
Charlie Clist
Jujhar Johal
Zain Ul Hassan
Will Wade
Bilal Hussain
Pete Clark
Parker-Cole
Matt Davis
