"An amazing experience" was the description of Worcestershire Academy coach Elliot Wilson regarding the county's 10 day trip to Chennai.
Nine players – six senior and three Academy – plus Wilson and batting coach Kevin Sharp went to India with the accent on playing spin and honing skills against the turning ball.
Here Elliot Wilson sends his second report on the trip which was funded by the D'Oliveira Foundation, the Supporters' Association and two anonymous individuals.
He writes: "What an amazing experience for all involved and we can only compliment Sachin and the GCA who have pulled this together for us. Many thanks to all from WCCC.
"The facilities at 'Cricket Drome' have been first class and there is a real work ethic to the complex from the five year olds to the seniors that use the complex.
"The wickets we have been provided with have been fantastic and have been complimented by Mitch (skipper Daryl Mitchell) and Cub (Alexei Kervezee).
"They have turned and bounced consistently making batting challenging but by no means impossible.
"It has demanded accurate footwork, clear thinking and an intent to play in your chosen way.
"The bowlers have run in all morning and all afternoon for six days for us in what have been 30 degrees plus conditions."
Wilson adds: "India, as you can imagine, comes with many unknowns and uncertainties which did bring with it a sense of trepidation for a number of the players and staff.
"It has been so pleasing to hear their thoughts and feedback on what unanimously has been described as a fantastic experience and hugely beneficial to their development as cricketers.
"The sheer quantity of balls hit and time spent at the crease has been raved about by all and then the integration of academy and professional players has been hugely rewarding.
"There were comments such as'just watching Mitch, Cub, Dolly and the two Tom's bat makes life easier' and 'when I bat with Mitch or Cub I feel my game moves forwards months in the space of minutes'
"All this combined with the support back at the hotel has made this a priceless experience and I would like to go on record to thank the Supporters Association, the D'Oliviera Foundation and anonymous backers for making this happen."
