Worcestershire Academy (Under-18s) are back in action tomorrow (Thursday) when they take on Staffordshire Seconds in a 50 over game at Bromsgrove School (11am).
The Academy went down by 33 runs to a Herefordshire Development X1 in another 50 over game at Eastnor.
Herefordshire opted to bat and at various stages were 59-5 and 102-7 but recovered to total 206 all out from 42.4 overs.
Ben Clarke (3-14), Ben Clements (3-34) and Shayan Tahmeed (2-36) were the most successful bowlers.
Worcestershire lost wickets at regular intervals and were 113-9 before Seth Essenhigh, who went in at number 11, struck 40 off 20 balls and put on 60 for the final wicket with Clements (13 not out).
Worcestershire were finally bowled out for 173 in 37.4 overs with Essenhigh having struck three sixes.
He will again keep wicket against Staffordshire with Ben Clarke captaining the side.
