Spinner Hinley makes his mark for Seconds in T20 double header

Former Sussex spinner, Tom Hinley bowled two excellent spells for Worcestershire Seconds in their ECB T20 double header with a strong Northamptonshire Seconds side at Overstone Park, Northampton.

Hinley, who has been on trial for the Seconds in recent weeks, had figures of 4-0-24-2 in Game One and followed that with figures of 4-1-23-2 in Game Two.

David Lategan also played his part in top-scoring in both games for Worcestershire.

However, the efforts of the duo were in vain as Northamptonshire won Game One by 78 runs and Game Two by 92 runs.

In Game One, Northamptonshire scored 184-5 after being put into bat by Worcestershire captain, Jake Libby.

Former England international and Northants Vitality Blast captain, David Willey, hit 57 off 45 balls and Gus Miller 69.

In addition to Linley, Libby (4-0-40-1), Sam Keeling-Wright (4-0-38-1) and Ben Clements (3-0-34-1) were the other wicket-takers.

Worcestershire were restricted to 106-9 in their 20 overs with David Lategan top-scoring with an unbeaten run a ball 34 with four boundaries.

In Game Two, Henry Cullen took over as Worcestershire captain and Northamptonshire again scored 184-5 after being put into bat with Miller (55), Rob Keogh (38), George Bartlett (31) and Saif Zaib (30) the main scorers.

Apart from Linley, the wicket-takers were Lategan (3-0-22-2) and Clements (3-0-21-1) were amongst the wickets.

Worcestershire were bowled out for 92 in 15.1 overs with Lategan (32) again top-scoring and Kashif Ali (25) the other main contributor.
