Worcestershire Academy have been involved in a series of T20 matches, including two in the ECB Under-18 Competition Group Two.
Against Northamptonshire at Bromsgrove School, the side were bowled out for 138 in exactly 20 overs after being put into bat.
Keeper-batter Seth Essenhigh made 29 off 22 balls with three sixes but wickets fell at regular intervals until last man William Jones hit 22 off nine balls before he was run out.
Jones and Jeet Varaich quickly removed the openers and the game was in the balance at 60-4.
But Jack Bates (36 not out) and Barney Morton (24 not out) saw their side to a five wicket win with nine balls to spare.
Varaich finished with 3-0-21-1, Jones 3.3-0-27-2 and Shayan Tahmeed 2-0-13-1.
In another ECB T20 encounter versus Gloucestershire at Cheltenham, Joshua Leach produced a fine performance with the ball for the visitors.
He returned 4-0-15-3 after Gloucestershire totalled 171-4 after choosing to bat with Ollie Smith (3-0-20-1) the other wicket-taker.
Worcestershire were indebted to a fine 62 off 48 balls from Fin Goodman and he hit three sixes and five fours.
He added 49 for the fifth wicket with Henry Hawes to lift the total to 113-4.
But then Hawes (19) was run out, Goodman fell 16 runs later and Worcestershire eventually closed on 152-7.
The two teams then competed in a T20 friendly which was in the balance until the final ball of the game.
Azami (4-0-18-1), Ben Clements (3-0-22-1) and Ben Clarke (4-0-36-1) were the wicket-takers in a Gloucestershire total of 155-3 after they won the toss.
For Worcestershire, Essenhigh cracked 48 off 27 balls with one maximum and seven other boundaries.
Hawes chipped in with 28 off 26 balls and the eighth wicket pair of Leach (16 not out) and Darley (16 not out) kept their side in contention.
Worcestershire needed four to win off the final ball but managed two and were edged out by two runs.
