Annual Report Highlights:
-
- The Club has been stretched like never before in 2020 with every aspect of business impacted by both the global pandemic and records floods. Immense gratitude to all at Worcestershire CCC in dealing so well with adversity and severe challenges.
- Despite this, Worcestershire CCC recorded a profit of £21,635 in 2020 compared to a loss of £81,810 in 2019. Underlying financial improvements materially better, reflecting pre-emptive steps taken, member generosity, government support and extensive restructuring in late 2019.
- Since 2016 debt has reduced from £5.6mn to £3.7mn at the end of 2020. Improved financial management ensures solvency and allows Worcestershire CCC to sustainably invest in improving all aspects of our Club – on and off the field. Worcestershire CCC have not cut corners – on-field total cricket expenditure has risen over the last four years more than any other first-class county. We aim to continue to add to our squad where required to improve competitiveness.
- Continuing to keep house in order and being financially disciplined will remain the focus, creating relative and absolute advantages. The working assumption for 2021 is intentionally prudent. While there are considerable challenges ahead, Worcestershire CCC is comfortable with its financial outlook.
