Worcestershire’s LV = County Championship match with Essex at New Road beginning on May 18 will get underway an hour later on the opening day at 12 noon.
The county are in action in a floodlit NatWest T20 Blast match with Lancashire at Old Trafford on the previous evening and will not arrive back in the city until the early hours of Sunday.
Essex were agreeable to the request for the revised start time after being contacted by Worcestershire.
Play on days two, three and four will revert to the normal start time of 11am.
Worcestershire will open their T20 Blast campaign away to Durham Jets on May 16 before the clash with Lancashire on the following day.
Then they will take on Essex in the County Championship after securing two wins and two draws from their opening four games.
Worcestershire won the home fixtures with Kent and Derbyshire and enjoyed the better of away draws with Hampshire and Glamorgan.
