Seconds Beaten By Eight Wickets Despite Hepburn Resistance

Seconds Beaten By Eight Wickets Despite Hepburn Resistance

Worcestershire Seconds went down by eight wickets to Second Eleven Championship leaders Lancashire Seconds at RGS Worcester today.

The home side, who resumed on 37-6 in their second innings, were dismissed for 64 after play had been delayed for 90 minutes because of morning rain.

Skipper Alex Hepburn was the only player to offer much resistance against some quality bowling when play got underway after the loss of 24 overs.

The all-rounder made 39 from 103 balls with three fours in a 140 minute stay at the wicket as Lancashire were left a 115 target.

Tom Bailey, Toby Lester, one-time England spinner Simon Kerrigan and Matt Parkinson shared the wickets for Lancashire.

Lancashire reached their modest target in 21.4 overs with Pat Brown and Ben Twohig both enjoying one success with the ball.
