Russell Joint Leading Wicket-Taker In Country In T20 Blast

Worcestershire Rapids paceman Chris Russell is riding high in the national bowling averages for the NatWest T20 Blast.

Russell will go into tonight's home sold-out clash with Birmingham Bears occupying seventh position in the averages with 13 wickets at an average of 12.46 apiece.

He is also the joint leading wicket-taker in the competition so far alongside Somerset's veteran paceman and Twenty20 specialist Dirk Nannes.

Russell's best performance to date was 4-40 in last Friday's away win over Derbyshire Falcons which included three wickets in the final over.

He came into the Rapids side after the opening two away games with Durham Jets and Lancashire Lightning.
