Rock Lobster Are New Sponsors Of Sold Out Ladies Day At New Road

Worcestershire CCC's ever popular Ladies Day has a new sponsor for 2016 in jewellers Rock Lobster and it promises to be a day to remember on and off the pitch.

The event is once again sold out in the Chestnut Marquee next Wednesday and coincides with the Sky Sports televised One-Day International between England Women and Pakistan Women at New Road.

And anyone attending the Ladies Day function or simply watching the cricket will have the chance to win a diamond in a competition being run by Rock Lobster who are based in Worcester's Reindeer Court shopping complex.

Rock Lobster have recently become the official sponsors of the New Road Stand.

The County are also delighted to have joined forces for Ladies Day with Wonderful Worcestershire Women (WWW) in recognition of the major contribution made by the female population to the business world in the County.

WWW staged their inaugral Awards Event at New Road in April and those award winners will be guests of Worcestershire CCC next Wednesday.

Worcestershire General Manager Jon Graham said: "Rock Lobster have been involved with the club in previous years but they've come back and now sponsor the New Road stand, which is something we introduced this year, and are the new Ladies Day sponsors.

"We've got over 200 people again in the Marquee for Ladies Day. It has just kept building and building during the past 10 years and is one of the first things to sell out every year.

"It is a major event during the cricket season now. We look forward to it and it is ideal that it ties in with the One-Day International for England and Pakistan Women.

"We are running a 'find the diamond' competition through Rock Lobster.

"We will be handing out business cards from Rock Lobster and on the business cards there will be either a real diamond or a fake diamond.

"Anyone who takes one of those cards, if they go into Rock Lobster in town, there is one real diamond to be won – a bigger one than on the business card – which is worth a lot of money.

"I think it is great promotion and hopefully that will drive some interest and people into their shop. We are really pleased to have them back on board sponsoring Ladies Day."

Graham added: "We are also hopeful the winner of the Wonderful Worcestershire Women awards evening will be able to be part of the pre match toss ceremony.

"We are delighted to have this tie up with Wonderful Worcestershire Women and the overall winner of their awards evening will get a lot of profile during the day.

"It is important we recognise women not just in sport but in business as well that have been successful.

"Whilst Ladies Day is well renowned for its social element, it is really good to recognise individuals that have brought a lot to the community and we want to support that."
