Rapids Name 13 Strong Squad For T20 Blast Quarter-Final With The Lions

Worcestershire Rapids Director of Crcket Steve Rhodes has named a 13 strong squad for the NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final with Surrey Lions at the Kia Oval on Saturday afternoon (start 2.30pm).

Rhodes has chosen the 11 players in action during last Friday's T20 Blast win over Derbyshire Falcons at New Road plus all-rounder Gareth Andrew and paceman Charlie Morris.

Andrew has been skippering the Second Eleven while continuing his rehabilitation from a back problem and scored an unbeaten century on Thursday against Durham.

Morris has played in all 12 LV = County Championship matches this season, taking 39 wickets, plus two of the three Royal London One-Day Cup clashes to date and the opening two T20 Blast games.

Worcestershire have received clearance from New Zealand Cricket to play batsman Colin Munro who is part of his country's 'A' team tour of this country.

He warmed up for the Lions clash by scoring 150 off 100 balls against Northamptonshire at Northampton on Thursday and is the Rapids second highest scorer in T20 Blast cricket this season.

But Worcestershire will not be able to call upon all-rounder Moeen Ali with England choosing to rest all their players in between the third and fourth Tests with India.

The sides have only met once in the competition before with Surrey triumphing by 14 runs in a 204 quarter-final at The Oval.

Current Surrey players Gareth Batty and Vikram Solanki were part of the Worcestershire side on that occasion.
