Pat Mills, Hon. Secretary, 1974 – 2014

Pat Mills, Hon. Secretary, 1974 – 2014.

(Letter from Cynthia Crawford MBE, President)

It is with great sadness that I write to inform you that after bravely battling throat cancer for the past two years, Pat passed away peacefully at home on Easter Monday, 21st April 2014. I know that all of us will readily acknowledge her unstinting work for the association and our thoughts and prayers are with Ken at this sad time.

Everybody who has visited New Road over the past 40 years will have known Pat. She ran the supporters shop, the fifty fifty competition and the coach trips to all away one day games, including all the finals at Lords as well as members lunches and Christmas lunch for coach passengers. She was also involved in a whole host of other fundraising projects and assisted all the players with their benefits. Over the years she has raised many hundreds of thousands for the club and in 2013/14 alone we donated £140,000 to the club.

Worcestershire CCC and the Supporters Association were Pat’s life, and in recognition of her dedication she was made Vice President in 2001. It is now our turn, as members to do something to mark her magnificent contribution and dedication. As such is has been agreed that we will set up a memorial fund in Pat’s name (in the WCCSA accounts) All the money raised will be used for a future project of the WCCSA’s choice which will be for the benefit of all supporters.

I very much hope you will support this fund by making a donation. Please find enclosed a form with details outlining how you can donate.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Cynthia Crawford MBE
