Charlie Morris and Jack Shantry are battling to emulate spin wizard Saeed Ajmal in topping the 50 wicket mark for Worcestershire in the LV= County Championship this season.
The two pacemen have taken 48 and 44 wickets respectively in the Championship with two games remaining against Surrey at New Road tomorrow and Essex at Chelmsford from September 23.
Morris reached 50 first class wickets against Derbyshire at Derby with the aid of his four for Oxford University against Nottinghamshire in April.
Ajmal leads the way with 63 victims from his nine Championship appearances for the County in 2014.
On the batting front, skipper Daryl Mitchell still comfortably leads the way as Worcestershire's highest run-getter with 1308 runs at an average of nearly 69.
Alexei Kervezee, Ben Cox, Tom Fell and Richard Oliver have all topped the 500 run mark in the competition.
Oliver has the highest strike rate of the county batsman with an average of 85.1 runs per 100 balls.
