Moeen Dismisses Kohli And Shines With The Ball In England T20I Triumph

Moeen Ali played a key role with the ball as England launched the best of three T20I series against India with a seven wicket win in Kanpur.

The Worcestershire all-rounder collected the prized wicket of Indian skipper and run machine Virat Kohli with his very first delivery.

He went onto finish with 2-21 from his four overs in what was only his second T20I appearance in the last nine months.

India were restricted to 147-7 in their 20 overs – a total England chased down with 11 balls to spare.

Moeen came into the attack at 55-1 after seven overs and immediately made a massive impact.

Opening batsman Kohli on 29 whipped Moeen to mid wicket but skipper Eoin Morgan held onto the chance.

Moeen bowled his four overs in one spell and in his final over claimed a second success as Manish Pandey (3) tried to work the ball to leg, was hit on the front pad and adjudged lbw.

India were then 98-5 in the 14th over and England never relinquished their grip with Tymal Mills, Chris Jordan, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes all picking up one wicket.

A half century from Morgan ensured that England made light work of their modest target.
