Mcclenaghan Home Debut As Rapids Look To Book T20 Blast Quarter-Final Spot

Worcestershire Rapids Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 13 strong squad for the home NatWest T20 Blast clash with Derbyshire Falcons tomorrow evening (5.30pm start).

New Zealand paceman Mitchell McCleneghan is poised to make his home debut against the Falcons after impressing with his pace and aggression during the LV = County Championship win over Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.

The Rapids will go into the game knowing that victory – or even a tie – will ensure their place in the quarter-finals for the second time in three seasons.

They still also have a chance of securing a home tie if they overcome the Falcons and Nottinghamshire Outlaws lose away to Yorkshire Vikings with run rate then the deciding factor.

Rhodes has selected the 11 players in action during last Friday's impressive away win over holders Northamptonshire Steelbacks plus all-rounder Gareth Andrew and paceman Chris Russell.

The duo are currently in action for the Seconds in the Second Eleven Championship match with MCC Young Cricketers at Kidderminster which reaches its conclusion today.

A reminder that anyone who has attended a previous Rapids home game this season can obtain a ticket in advance for tomorrow's game for just £12 – a saving of £5.

Rapids replica shirts will also be on sale in the club shop for £35 – the cheapest of all 18 first class counties.
