Kervezee Included In Seconds Squad For Durham Clash

Alexei Kervezee has been included in the Worcestershire squad for the Second Eleven Championship clash with Durham at Darlington which gets underway today (Monday) at 11am.

Kervezee has played in the last four LV = County Championship matches but been replaced by debutant Joe Clarke for the Division One encounter with Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl in the top six.

The Dutch international scored 93 and took three wickets against Sussex at Hove but since then has not shown his best form.

In addition to Clarke, all-rounder Ed Barnard is also making his Championship debut against Hampshire from the Seconds side which came close to forcing victory in a three-day game against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham last week.

Pace duo Chris Russell and Graeme Whiles are also currently side-lined through injury.

Jack Butler, who is from Cornwall and was with the Gloucestershire Academy last year, takes over from Clarke behind the stumps.

Seam bowler Gareth Wade, who plays for Chester Le Street CC, is also added.

Spinner Shaaiq Choudhry will again skipper the side.

The Seconds only previous Championship game this season ended in a draw with Northamptonshire Seconds at Milton Keynes after the final day was washed out.
