Henry And Rhodes Included In Rapids Squad For Lightning Clash

Paceman Matt Henry returns to the Worcestershire Rapids squad for tonight's NatWest T20 Blast clash with Lancashire Lightning at New Road (5.30pm start).

The New Zealander was rested for the Specsavers County Championship success over Leicestershire this week when Kyle Abbott filled the overseas player spot.

All-rounder and Second Eleven captain George Rhodes is also included in a 12 strong squad.

Rhodes, who this week signed a new two year contract until the end of the 2018 campaign, made his T20 Blast debut in the home win ofer Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

It is the start of a vital double header for the Rapids who face Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge on Saturday.

They are lying in third spot in the table but have collected one point from the last four games from a wash-out away to Durham Jets.

The Rapids are also looking for a better showing than in their previous meeting this season with Lancashire when they were bowled out for 53 – their lowest T20 score.

Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "They are both massive games. We need to try and improve on our performance at Old Trafford which wasn't very good and I'm confident we can do that.

"Notts is another tough game but the great thing about T20 cricket is anyone can win."
