Bumpy Names Unchanged Rapids Squad For Edgbaston Showdown

Worcestershire Rapids Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named an unchanged squad for tonight's NatWest T20 Blast derby with Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.

The Rapids are keeping faith with the 14 players originally selected for the 38 run home success over Durham Jets last Friday.

The 11 players who featured against the Jets have been chosen along with pace duo Chris Russell and Charlie Morris plus batsman Alexei Kervezee.

Morris made his first appearance at senior level this season in the seven wicket away win over Leicestershire in the Specsavers County Championship.

Kervezee also played in that game and his 27 not out off 15 balls hurried Worcestershire to victory in their second innings on a difficult pitch.

Russell was the County's leading wicket-taker in the NatWest T20 Blast two years ago with 16 wickets and yesterday picked up five wickets for the Seconds in their win over Northants at Kidderminster.

Rhodes said: "It will be a tough game for us. Going to play at Edgbaston is always a tough place to go and play but there is no better place to go and play as well.

"You've got a fantastic atmosphere with the crowd there and it's a wonderful stadium now.

"We are anticipating a tough game but on the back of last week and a good win this week, then confidence will be high.

"We've always put up a good show and we are looking forward to going there and trying to get a win."
