2nd XI Field Strong Side For Championship Opener

Worcestershire will launch their Second Eleven Championship campaign against Gloucestershire at Kidderminster tomorrow with several senior players included in the squad.

Club Captain Brett D’Oliveira is part of the 12 strong squad and will lead the side after making good progress during the winter with his rehab after a dislocated shoulder.

Adam Hose will be back in action for Worcestershire for the first time since suffering a wrist injury when struck by a delivery by Durham’s Paul Coughlin at New Road in September.

New signings Tom Taylor (Northamptonshire), Ethan Brookes (Warwickshire) and Yadvinder Singh (South Asian Cricket Academy) are also included.

Joe Leach will continue his comeback from knee surgery after bowling 15 overs during the two day game with Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl.

The game has been brought forward a week from its original date to give groundstaff more time to prepare for the two Vitality County Championship matches with Durham and Somerset being staged at Chester Road.
